Professor Petru Munteanu
Holder of the silver medal of honour of the Hohenlohe district

Professor Petru Munteanu founded the masterclasses for strings in 1987 and shortly afterwards the International Violin Competition at Schöntal Monastery, of which he was Artistic Director until his death. He supported generations of young violinists in an impressive way and helped many of them to achieve international careers. He was also one of the artistic personalities who supported the Hohenloher Kultursommer festival from the very beginning. In doing so, he has played a decisive role in shaping the cultural profile of the district and taking it out into the world.

We will all remember Petru Munteanu as a teacher, but above all as a person who dedicated his life to the violin, music and the promotion of young talent. His work in the district and for the Cultural Foundation will remain unforgotten.
