Video Recordings (1. Round)


  • Candidates must submit high-quality, unedited video recordings of all compulsory pieces for the 1st selection test (Telemann/Bach, Mozart and Caprice).
  • Each video must show the candidate in full. At the beginning of each video, the applicant must state his/her name, age group and piece.
  • A statement from the teacher/professor confirming the date and place of the performance/recording must accompany the submission.
  • Recordings must have been made within 6 months prior to the application deadline.
  • Recordings should be uploaded to a shareable online drive such as Google Drive, DropBox, OneDrive or other cloud application or can be submitted via wetransfer.
  • All uploaded files should be located in one folder and saved in the following format: “Schöntal 2022 Competition [your full name and age group]”. Each file should be named in the format {full name, age group and name of the work}. It should be a common video format such as MP4, MOV, AVI or WMV.
  • A link to access the files must be submitted with the application.
  • By uploading or transmitting the files, the applicant grants the Schöntal Monastery Violin Competition all rights of use within the framework of the competition, in particular downloading and saving on other drives, use for streaming and integration in social media channels.
  • All files must be uploaded and accessible or remain accessible by 31 May 2022.

INVITATIONS for the 2nd Round (LIVE)

The list of successful candidates from the 1st selection round will be published on the competition website by 30 June 2022. The selected applicants will then receive an invitation to participate live in the
2nd Round in Schöntal Monastery.
